I love playing the guitar and performing, I play ultimate frisbee, I love reading, and, of course, binging on TV shows! Before, I have had some, but limited, experience in teaching. For instance, I have taught younger kids the guitar and have taught pre-school and first-grade kids English and Maths.

Hi! My name is Yonit Kaptsan. I am 17-years-old and in my junior year in high school. Growing up, I played many sports such as tennis, swimming, volleyball, lacrosse, and dance. Now, the only hobbies I partake in include oil painting (which I have been doing for 7 years now) and exercising at the gym. I have a 3.62 GPA (90-92%) and am considered to be an honors scholar at my school. I truly enjoy learning new skills and being able to teach other students like myself. Being a native English speaker means I am able to help students grasp the conversational aspects of the language and be able to teach slang used frequently by American teenagers. In addition to being fluent in English, I am also proficient in speaking Russian as my parents are from Ukraine and spoke Russian growing up. When teaching someone with a less structured background in English, I am able to go slow and accommodate for any needs (I am very flexible).
